When I began my journey I was looking for quick, simple ways to get my nutrients and anything that would aid in my healing. After a lot of research and a lot of suggestions from those who are on the same path, I have a pretty good routine down and here are some of my favorites as far as herbal supplements go:
Wheat Grass Powder – We start every morning off with a wheat grass shot in our house. We add one scoop to however much water your want (I don’t do too much just because I am usually rushing in the morning so the quicker the better). I have linked the particualr Wheat Grass we use above. Some of the benefits of Wheat Grass that are listed on the product page: Wheat grass can be traced back in history over 5000 years, to ancient Egypt and perhaps even early Mesopotamian civilizations. It is purported that ancient Egyptians found sacred the young leafy blades of wheat and prized them for their positive affect on their health and vitality. It provides a good source of dietary fiber and dietary minerals such as iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and especially manganese. It has more iron, potassium, phosphorous and magnesium than any other grain. Combined with corn or wheat flour, it makes “almost” a perfect protein.
It is an all around “feel good” part of our routine and we have noticed way more energy, mental clarity and even skin improvements since including it in our routine.
Turmeric – This has been life saving for me! This powerful, natural anti-inflammatory has worked wonders for my desmoid site. My inflammation has gone down SO much by taking this daily. I take it around lunch time right before I eat a healthy fat (avocado, organic peanut butter, almond butter .. ) I take 2 tbsp and I swear by this stuff. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory, can stimulate the immune system and even supports liver function. Check this stuff out at the link above.
Ginger Extract – This is one of our most recent add ins to the daily routine and I love it so far. Not only does it have anti inflammatory properties it helps with digestion. I did notice some discomfort and bloating before I made this a staple and that has seemed to almost stop all together. Just another herbal supplement aiding in us feeling the best we can.
Vitamin D – I actually learned I was vitamin D deficient when I got my blood work back recently and it made all the sense in the world to me. I was sluggish, not feeling happy and definitely saw a major decrease in my energy. All of those symptoms have disappeared since being consistent with taking vitamin D daily.
Lions Mane – We haven’t been taking it long but the benefits hooked us. Again, do you research and make sure you are investing in a reputable brand but here are some benefits: Aid in the prevention of dementia, Helps Relieve Mild Symptoms of Depression and Anxiety, Protects Against Ulcers in the Digestive Tract and Reduces Heart Disease Risk, just to name a few!
Restore – Sometimes I experience mild cramping and bloat after meals. I found Restore and it really eases my stomach and helps with both. PLUS there are other major benefits to this product as well such as like combating environmental exposures. It’s absolutely tasteless and I add it to my water for the day and I forget its even there.
This book is life. changing. Be prepared to have your mind blown that the power to heal ourselves is right at the grocery store or in the farms up the street from our homes. There is a purpose and power to every piece of food we consume, this book is the holy grail of making sure you’re fueling your body correctly.
Spilling the Tea – There is nothing I love more than wrapping myself around a warm cup of tea at night after a long day. With the winter months coming I am stocked up and ready. I have to say, I LOVE the Yogi brand tea. The flavors are delightful and they all come with a motivational saying on the teabag tag. This variety pack is perfect because you get all the flavors to try without committing to one box. Let me know how you like it!
SUMMER YA’LL – EEE has been a huge issue for where I live this Summer which has, unfortunately, kept me indoors between dusk and dawn the whole Summer, but I tried this plant based bug spray out when I had dinner al fresco before the sun went down and it worked really well! The smell is strong but it smells good to me, like essential oils or something. ANYWHO – here is the link if you want to try it and keep those pesky bugs A W A Y.
I’m a sucker for a tumbler – I have so many that if I buy one more my husband will probably disown me BUT I have been trying to move away from plastic water bottles and switched over to this new glass tumbler. It’s 20oz and perfect for your morning smoothie, iced matcha or WHATEVER. It comes in a lot of different colors too but I went with white.
You all know I love Crystals and their ability to hold intention and heal. When I was first looking into them I swore by this book that really broke it down into terms I could understand and learn.
